Jamie Simpson, MSE
Jamie Simpson is a consultant with a deep commitment to disability issues. In her previous role as the inaugural Director of Accessibility and ADA Education at the University of Kansas, she initiated and coordinated programs that enhanced an inclusive campus for people with disabilities.
Prior to that, Ms. Simpson was the Disability Program Coordinator in the Bureau of Health Promotion at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), where she worked to systematically integrate people with disabilities and disability issues into other programs and Bureaus at KDHE. This initiative increased awareness of disability issues, created a foundation for eliminating health disparities related to disability, and fostered an environment for disability-specific cultural sensitivity.
A University of Kansas alumna, Ms. Simpson completed her Baccalaureate degree from the department of Applied Behavioral Science and her Master’s degree from the School of Education. While pursuing her Master's, she worked at the Research and Training Center on Independent Living on a project to measure independent living services and their effect on community participation for people with disabilities.
