The Research Group on Rehabilitation and Independent Living (RGRIL) has an active history of writing and securing grants to implement research and related training. Current and recent research projects are described below: 

  • Teaching students with disabilities at the post-secondary level their rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act and how to request accommodations to help them succeed academically. 
  • Teaching people with disabilities how to more fully participate in the community. 
  • Assessing interventions that influence the accessibility of the environment. 
  • Assessing disaster preparation and emergency response for people with mobility impairments.
