Margaret A. (Peg) Nosek, Ph.D.
Margaret (Peg) Nosek has spent more than 27 years conducting research at Baylor College of Medicine on community living for people with disabilities, with special focus on issues related to women with physical disabilities. She is Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Executive Director, Center for Research on Women with Disabilities, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is also Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Family Practice and Community Medicine at the University of Texas, Houston.
Dr. Nosek has an extensive record of research funding by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research and other agencies, most recently for the “Development of an Internet-Based Self-Esteem Intervention for Women with Physical Disabilities.” Her honors and awards include the Alumni Merit Award, Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, the John Stanley Coulter Memorial Lectureship from the American Congress of Physical Medicine, and "The Vent Life" Print Journalism Award from the National Easter Seal Society.
