Systematic Review

Effective programs are only valuable to the people they can benefit if they are known and used.

In addition to developing two interventions, the RTC/PICL conducted a systematic review of the research literature to identify other interventions that are effective in enhancing community participation for adults with disabilities. This information is currently available in two ways:

National Community Living Resource Center

The National Community Living Resource Center contains information on studies included in the systematic review.

RTC/PICL staff collaborated with the Center on Knowledge Translation for Disability and Rehabilitation Research (KTDRR) to host a webinar on "Multifaceted Interventions for Supporting Community Participation Among Adults with Disabilities: A Systematic Review" on Oct. 29, 2018. 

Judith Gross and Amalia Monroe-Gulick conducted the systematic review, with technical assistance from KTDRR. The findings may help service providers understand and apply multifaceted interventions that support adults with disabilities. The results also inform researchers and policymakers about current gaps in the research knowledge base.
